History Lesson.......

"Achievements are truly hard earned............"

In 1969, ten years after beginning his career in racing,

Rico Paris and his brother Pete built their first "Twin"

front engine dragster. Although the car more than proved

to be successful, it was destroyed when Rico, covered in oil,

blew off the end of the asphalt after losing a valley cover.

It was then that they decided to build what would

become the worlds first ever "Rear Twin" Top Gasser.

Not only a crowd pleaser, but to astounded fellow competitors

alike, the car ran a 7.46/191 on it's very first pass.

Although the car was running 'gas', it ran in the sevens

at 200 mph before NHRA killed the Top Gas Eliminator Division

at the end of 1971.

Now it was time for a transition. Because the Top Gass was

eliminated the car was dosed with nitro and became the

first and only "Rear Twin Engine" Top Fuel Dragster!

When NHRA outlawed twin motored Top Fuelers a season

later, Rico Paris still turned 6.8s at 223 mph with a bit of

"Pop" at appearances around the midwest.

Truly, this was one of the wildest machines to

'Straighten out the Quarters'

A while after, the car was sold, only to be repurchased

a few years later. Rico Paris had always wanted to bring

the car back out, with hopes of finding a driver for

"Exhibition Runs", and bring back the nostalgia of a

wonderful sport. His son Domenic has taken on this task

of rebuilding the car and performing throughout the USA.
